| January - June 2003 |
EDEL manufactured for renowned South German breweries several horizontal stainless
steel pressure tanks on galvanized steel saddles with
an overall length of 25 meters and a diameter of 3.4
meters. To manufacture the 2.200 hl cellar-welded tanks,
highly-qualified personnel employed core equipment such
as seam smoothing machines, polishing machines and plasma
tap hole welding machines which were specially designed
and built for this application. The construction of
a high-grade steel tank hull within an existing building
was another highlight with which BOLZ/EDEL could prove
their flexibility. This hull has a capacity of over
700.000 litres and serves as scaffold and buffer container
for an integrated sewage system. Co-operation with a
Dutch enterprise was a future oriented step.

| August 2000 - May 2003 |
From a prominent European
fire-brigade equipment manufacturer EDEL had received
a long-term contract for the supply of altogether 170
foam fire-extinguishing tanks till 5.000 until 9.000 liters
capacity. Follow-up orders for 30 more containers for
the years 2002 and 2004 confirm the good co-operation
and the outstanding quality of the supplied products. |
| June - December 2003 |
For a renowned German brewery EDEL
manufactures as partner enterprise several cylindrical-conical
fermentation tanks of 210 m3 volume, 15 m length and 3,6
m diameter. |
| June 2003 |
BOLZ closes a contract about the construction
and supply of high-quality pharmaceutical storage tanks
for the European, Asian and North American market. |
| May 2003 - January 2004 |
Orders from the pharmaceutical industry
form the emphasis in the manufacturing of the BOLZ/EDEL
group. Altogether 50 high-quality and partially electro-polished
pharmaceutical vessels of 40 to 40,000 liters capacity
will be delivered until the end of the year. |
| August 2002 |
EDEL manufactures tank
components in co-operation with a Russian/Turkish partner
enterprise. The main part of this contract - a brewery
project in Kazakhstan - is the forming of pressed rims
at large volume cones with a diameter of almost 8,000
mm. |
| September 2003 - March
2004 |
BOLZ receives
a major order from an international leading sugar processing
company about a multitude of heavy pressure filter reactors.
This order will stress the manufacturing capacity until
spring 2003 with technically interesting constructions
and various fabrication activities. For this order the
master equipment in welding technology will be a newly
installed computer-controlled plasma tap hole welding
machine. |

| January - August 2003 |
We improve continuously the work
conditions for our production workers by flexible seam
smoothing machines, noise insulation on existing machines,
new and more efficient dust extractions.
New heating systems and new lights in the workshops
reduce the environmental impact by less emissions and
considerably lower energy consumption.

Professional disposal,
thermal insulation, facilities upgrade of the company
buildings at the Isnyer- and Simoniusstrasse:
The BOLZ/EDEL group has just finished an important part
of their modernization with the complete interior and
exterior restructuring of the middle area of the production
and office space at the Isnyer-Strasse. The environmentally
correct disposal of hazarduos building material was a
main concern as well as the installation of warm-damming
windows and wall elements.
The installation of larger and flexible doors to the workshops
at the Simoniusstrasse and the Isnyer Strasse opens now
the possibility to load vessel elements of over 8,000
mm in diameter one-piece onto special vehicles for transportation
to the customer. |
| We plan for the
future |
| Summer 2003 |
The companies BOLZ and EDEL prepare
for the future - the exemplary training workshop with
a dedicated instructor, established at the beginning of
the year 2000, shows first results. The first trainees
have been integrated into the production right after they
have successfully finished their apprenticeship, thus
filling to a good part the enormous shortage of qualified
personnel. The co-operation with the company Alfred Bolz
Gerätebau GmbH turned out thereby as extremely positive. |
| Innovation , new
technologies |
| January - December 2003 |
New computer-assisted TIG/TP welding
machines on a steered 3-axis welding mount show the way
into the future of tank construction with the BOLZ/EDEL
group. In the future programmable welding processes will
be applied in particular for pharmaceutical tanks. Thus
quality and optical appearance of the welded joints become
reproducible and will meet in the long term the high requirements
of the customers. |
| December 2002 - February
2003 |
The employment of a rim
pressing machine permits a flexible and cost-effective
manufacturing of conical stainless steel vessel elements
of up to 8 meters in diameter and a material thickness
of up to 10 mm. Rim radii of up to 600 mm are in particular
for the construction of pressure tanks an interesting
alternative. The company BOLZ Apparatebau GmbH offers
also contracting services in this market segment.
Extensive expansions on current polishing machines show
more efficient results in productivity and best quality
of surfaces. |
